This listing is for a single
10gm tub
of coupling compound used in the building (or rebuilding) of a scintillator detector. Use this compound for coupling of a scintillation crystal to the Photomultiplier Tube (PMT), it won’t dry out or make a runny mess like thinner silicone greases or oils. This coupling compound eliminates the air gap between the crystal and PMT, allowing more light to pass through the connection by reducing reflection and
light
loss, better matching the refractive index of the mated surfaces. This coupling compound can be used on a wide range of crystal types and PMTs, including crystals that are “canned” (enclosed and with a
transparent
window) or those that couple directly to the PMT.
iRad Silicone Coupling Compound
is a very high viscosity silicone grease that is safe and easy to work with. This is the same high quality, high viscosity silicone compound I use when making or refurbishing scintillation detectors myself. Sold in 10gm size tub, enough for coupling many detectors (quantity of couplings depends on size of crystal and PMT surfaces).
This listing is for a single 10gm tub of compound, no other items shown are included with this sale.
